Growing up as a Navy “brat” with 3 sisters, I was constantly exposed to the world of hair and makeup. Following my love of art, theater and fashion, a career in the hair industry seemed like a perfect fit.
I completed my education after attending the Gene Juarez Academy and Paul Mitchell NW Hair Academy in 1992. Upon receiving my Cosmetology License I apprenticed under noted stylist Antonina Barbagallo for 2 years. I went on to work for 4 high profile Salons in the Seattle and Whidbey Island area where I was voted Most Creative Hairstylist by South Whidbey Record.
In 2004, I opened my own salon, and in 2006 expanded to our current location in Downtown Freeland.
I am a firm believer in advanced education and have attended countless seminars and classes to stay up to date on the latest techniques and hair styles, most recently graduating from Bumble & Bumble's Immersion courses in New York.
My goal has always been to create a team concept salon with a comfortable relaxed environment where clients come first and your satisfaction is always guaranteed.

Since 1993 I have been working as a hairdresser and have loved every phase of my journey thus far. I have a passion for people and the art of communication, and find great satisfaction in making people feel good about themselves.
I have been fortunate enough to receive extensive training in the Pivot Point method of haircutting, advanced styling, and advanced training in color and chemical work. Communication emerged early on as an important factor in my career. After 4,000 hours of study and demonstration, I earned my Journeyman card from the Washington State Apprenticeship Council in Cosmetology. I then taught classes in professional skills and salon management/operations for this program.
I moved from Seattle to Whidbey Island in 2004. Here at the Color Box Salon, I enjoy all aspects of my job, including the role of Network Educator for Bumble and Bumble. I feel fortunate to have had such an opportunity made available to me, and look forward to working within our community for years to come.

I began my hairdressing career in 2009.  I graduated valedictorian from the Paul Mitchell Northwest Academy. I've had extensive continued education and training with Wella, Brocato, Paul Mitchell, Goldwell, and Bumble & Bumble. I worked at an established Salon in Mill Creek for 5 years and the call of Whidbey Island brought me to "The Rock".  I stay current on trends and fashion through continued education and social media.  My goal is to make sure you are completely satisfied.  On my off time you may see me at the dog park with my lovable Great Pyrenees dog or trail riding with my horse.

My experience working with hair began in 2006 at the Gary Manuel Aveda Institute in Seattle, a decision that was encouraged and inspired during my employment as a receptionist for 2 years at Gary Manuel Salon and the Institute.
I continued my experience at Rudy's Barbershop, a high volume salon/barbershop chain whose focus was on quality and satisfaction rather than quantity and speed. They provided me with further training in classes taught by representatives of Bumble & bumble, Wella, Logics, and Rudy's.
After 10 years with Rudy's I transitioned to Whidbey Island, where I grew up, and Color Box Salon, which perfectly fits how I would describe my ideal professional setting. I am excited to continue my education and experience with hair here, and to become a part of the Whidbey Island community again.
